Clayton Vaughn / 835®I heard what I thought was a gobble in the distance, so I stopped to listen , locate and call back. Then, I heard a gobble from about 50 yards. I looked up and saw that Tom at full strut in the middle of the road. I dove into the bushes that were about two feet high, and was lying in the prone position with my hen decoy at arms length. After a few minutes of calling back and forth with that bird, I finally took my shot at 9 yards. The Tom had an 8 inch beard, 1 inch spurs, and weighed 20 lbs. Thanks Mossberg for making the perfect turkey gun! |
